Synonomy of the Emydura.

The most important part of nomenclature is synonymy. For this to be stable all name bearing papers must be aligned by date and the oldest name takes precedence. Any names for different populations are accepted or refuted. All changes must be accepted or refuted, this is the tenant of nomenclature. There is no preference on the part of the user. As the Emydura repeatedly cause confusion, largely because of the personal preferences of a number of scientists and agencies we present a formal synonymy for the Emydura to demonstrate what are the valid names.

To explain the process here the name in bold at the top is the valid name. The others are a list of papers that have names in them and is basically stating that they all refer to the same taxon listed in the order that they appeared in the literature.
